Everyone comes back someday

The magic of the Bösehof

It is no coincidence that so many of my colleagues have been working within the charming walls of the Bösehof with heart and soul for years, some even for decades. For them, working in hospitality is far more than just a profession. It is a calling.

I myself had the opportunity to learn and complete my training as a hotel specialist in this very house. Those years of training were shaped by discipline, tradition and a high standard of quality. Dedication and full commitment were expected at all times. And despite this high level of expectation, people always remained at the centre of everything. My training years were caring, familiar and marked by a genuine interest in personal development. Mistakes were never judged, but seen as opportunities to improve and grow. The trust that was placed in every individual gave a sense of security. Alongside the valuable experience and extensive expertise that was passed on with passion, it was above all values such as team spirit, hospitality and professionalism that made me feel at home.

When I left the house four years ago, the final words given to me were that everyone who has once been part of the Bösehof will eventually return. And they were right.

Because it was not only me who was drawn back to this very special “family.”

But what is it exactly that makes being part of this team so special, that it keeps drawing people back time and time again? I thought I would simply pass the question on.

Katrin – from part time employee to family member

“The team! The house, the guests and the work itself. All of this makes the job something truly special.”

Achim – part of our restaurant team for almost 25 years

“Definitely the crazy colleagues. Even if there are moments when you just want to run away, that is never really an option. I have always been able to grow and develop here and no day is ever like the other. It is always full of surprises.”

Andy – third time’s a charm

“It is the work with people, communicating with them and sometimes having a laugh together about funny situations. Knowing that I have given our guests a perfect day or evening, that is what makes me happy.
Why did I come back? The Bösehof is my home. It is the place that made me who I am today and that is an indescribably beautiful feeling.”

Freddy – cook from day one

“Definitely the working atmosphere and the fantastic, modern cuisine. You simply feel at home here.”

Rico – culinary apprentice with a cap

“My internship in the kitchen convinced me that I wanted to become part of the team. The colleagues were great and I am receiving a solid education here. I simply really enjoy cooking, even at home.”

Carina – marketing and somehow a little bit of everything else as well

“When I started here, I thought: ‘Oh God, they are all so close with each other, how am I ever going to fit in?’ And then suddenly you simply get pulled into it all. That is not something you can take for granted and anyone who has not experienced it can hardly understand how extraordinary it really is. Having so many long standing team members here is truly something very special.”

Sabine – housekeeping manager by passion

“Work is like a bank robbery – you cannot do it without good accomplices. And we truly have fantastic accomplices here. Working together is simply a lot of fun.”

Janne – our cake fairy

“I have complete creative freedom and can fully express myself by creating desserts, cakes and pastries exactly the way I imagine them and truly love to make them. Being able to let your creativity run free is not something you can take for granted. I appreciate that very much.”

Sybille – the heart of the reception

“There are simply amazing people here … or maybe it is just that it is never boring!”

But the most beautiful feeling of all is knowing, at the end of the day, that we have created unforgettable moments for so many guests.
Together – as a family
